Title: Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary
Description: This Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary depicts the scenes of the Seven Sorrows of Mary through her perspective. Through this unique rendering, we observe the: 1) Prophesy of Simeon, 2) Flight to Egypt, 3) Losing Jesus in the Temple, 4) Meeting Jesus as He carries the Cross, 5) Jesus' Crucifixion, 6) Jesus taken down from the Cross, and 7) Jesus' Burial. Each sorrowful scene is separated by a sword, piercing Our Mother's Immaculate Heart. Her heart is depicted with fire shooting forth from the top, symbolic of her love for God and for all of humanity. Roses, gilded with the purity of her Immaculate Conception encircle her heart.
The original drawing is done with pencil, charcoal, and gold leaf on archival paper with a size of 4.5"H x 6.5"W.
