The Monstrance of His Holy Name depicts a stylized version of a traditional monstrance adorned with a variety of symbols used to represent Jesus throughout history. Ten symbols were illustrated within the piece: IHS (monogram taken from the Greek spelling of Jesus), the consecrated host, 12 stars (representing the 12 tribes of Israel), ichthys ("Jesus fish"), Chi Rho (representing the first two letters of the Greek word Christos), ancient Hebrew for Yeshua and Yahweh, crosses representing His suffering for our redemption, crowns representative of His kingship, and the Alpha and Omega symbols representing his all-encompassing presence.
